Mana Pools National Park

Mana Pools National Park

  • World Heritage Site
  • Remarkable concentration of wildlife
  • Beautiful pools and vegetation
  • Haven for the endangered black rhino

The Mana Pools are Zimbabwe's second World Heritage Site and are situated on the Zambezi river - consisting of four main pools and several smaller pools scattered along the river.

It is a scenically spectacular national park with great cliffs overhanging the river, sheltering large populations of wildlife and harbouring endangered animals like the black rhino and Nile crocodile

The Mana Pools have been formed by the river's erosive action on the riverbed, creating a number of large pools with seasonal water, scattered over a 2 000km² area

At Mana it is also possible to walk away from the campsite for a closer experience of the wildlife. Canoeing on the Zambezi is also highly recommended for game viewing and appreciating the unique geological landscape.

The reserve looks almost like a park: with large Acacia Albida trees and open, grassy fields. Apart from its reputation for a large and rich wildlife diversity, Mana is also known for its birdlife.
