White Water Rafting

Duration: 1 Day
Priced from: USD 110.00 per person

The Zambezi River provides a powerful and exciting White Water River Rafting adventure, experience the rapids on this rafting trip in Victoria Falls...

The Zambezi River is internationally recognised as offering one of the best and wildest white water rafting experiences in the world!  The beautiful Batoka Gorge provides rapids that are classified as Grade 5 – which means they are extremely difficult, violent, steep and totally thrilling!  Big drops, steep gradients, high volume and pressure areas make this the ultimate white water rafting adventure!

White water rafting on the Zambezi River was first offered commercially in 1981, and since that time, it has become the most popular tourist activity in the entire Victoria Falls area.  It is estimated that these rapids see over 50,000 adventurous visitors per year!

White water rafting is offered on both sides of the Zambezi River – in Zambia and in Zimbabwe, below the Victoria Falls.  Day trips are conducted between rapids 1 and 18.  Nearly half of the rapids are classified as Grade 5 (Grade 6 being “unrunnable”).  After rapid 18, the water rises and moves downstream with waters flowing in from Zambia and Angola.  The natural beauty of this area also adds to the experience!

The Zambezi River is at its best for white water rafting when the water is at its lowest level.  The one-day low-water trip is the most popular with visitors who want a thrilling white water adventure.  The best time to go is between July and February. The white water rafting is closed around April/May, depending on the water levels and weather conditions.
