See Victoria Falls by Horse Riding through the area...A variety of trails for riders in the African bush with plenty of game viewing opportunities!
Horse riding is one of the most enjoyable ways to see the African bush and wildlife. Novices and experienced riders will enjoy the scenic horse trails through the Victoria Falls area, while interacting with the horses. Several options are available; half-day, full-day and overnight horse riding trails.
We recommend the short horse trails for novice horse riders (which last up to three hours) during which you will enjoy beautiful scenery and plenty of African wildlife. The full-day horse trails go through the Mopani woodlands and lovely Teak forests perched above the thundering Batoka Gorge. For more experienced horse riders, there are longer, overnight horse riding safaris, which go through the Victoria Falls National Park area along the Zambezi River.
There are different horses and ponies for novice, intermediate and experienced riders. They range in size and breed (including thoroughbred Anglo Arab, thoroughbred Cleveland Bay, thoroughbred cross and bush ponies) and all horses are healthy, responsive, and in good condition.
All rides are led by experienced guides, who will take you through the most impressive horse trails and provide information on the bush and wildlife. Some of the game you are likely to see include hippo, crocodile, duiker, bushbuck, with a chance to see elephant and buffalo. For the bird enthusiasts, there is a wide variety of bird species in the area as well.
